WHAT IS THE COACHING RATIO?
The Junior Golf Performance Academy always sticks to a 5:1 student to coach ratio. We have designated shuttle carts that each group uses so they can easily get around the practice facility and the golf course!
WHAT HAPPENS IF IT RAINS?
As we know Florida summers are hard to predict what the weather will bring in the afternoon. Day of cancelation will only occur if the golf staff tells us the course is closed due to weather.
We will play in the rain until the weather becomes too severe to play in which case we will go inside for putting practice, course strategy, and golf fitness. Our team does this until the weather clears up. In the case that the weather does not clear for over we will then call parents for an early pickup.
WHAT KIND OF TRAINING DO THE COACHES HAVE?
Our coaching staff is composed of PGA Golf Management Students from Florida Gulf Coast University. They are professionally trained to teach and instruct golfers of all ages and skill levels. As well all coaches go through a certification program called the Athletic Development Model that specializes in youth development athletics and strategies to best train kids based upon their age and skill level.
WHAT ABOUT THE FLORIDA HEAT?
We understand that it is very hot in Florida. The JGPA stresses the importance of staying hydrated, eating right, getting enough rest, and dressing appropriately for the heat. We have many water stations located throughout the facilities where we will take our juniors for water breaks frequently throughout camps. Juniors are allowed rest breaks in shaded areas, and bathroom breaks where there are air conditioned areas to cool down.
HOW OR WHERE DO WE PURCHASE CLUBS AND EQUIPMENT?
If your junior does not have golf clubs, do not stress. JGPA has many sets of clubs available for your juniors when they are at our facilities. We recommend speaking with our Director of Operations, Thor Parrish prior to purchasing your junior a new set of clubs ASAP. We can help guide you in the right direction of which clubs to purchase that are the best fit for your junior. If you are interested in purchasing clubs, please reach out to us for more information!
WHERE IS DROP OFF LOCATED?
Our drop off area is located in the parking lot and is marked by our JGPA blue and red flag. You will see the flag located as soon as you pull in, and we ask that all parents park and drop their kids off in this area. All of the shuttle carts will be located near orange cones in one area of the parking lot that is safe and easy for juniors to arrive. We ask that parents do not use the bag drop area to drop off their kids, as it can get very congested with Quail Creek members and cars.
